Bison Creek Ranch is a family owned business located two miles west of East Glacier Park, Montana. Tucked amidst the aspens and the pines off of Highway 2, you’ll be sure to find the Schauf Family hard at work or playing, they often intermingle. And rightly so, with A-Frames, cabins, The Beaver Lodge and The People’s Market, there’s a lot to be done between maintaining and managing properties, enjoying our surroundings and our time with family. Our Beaver Lodge offers one of the East Side’s greatest views of the Park. Our properties are available for guests traveling through or visiting Glacier National Park during the months of May through September. Nearby local communities provide unique shopping and dining amenities, and Browning boasts some of the finest cultural landscape recognized world wide. Breakfast, lunch, dinner options are available in the nearby communities and offer grocery stores and Glacier National Park Gift shops a plenty. We’re happy to point you in the direction to some of our favorites.
Beaded jewelry and art work, Glacier gifts, native local arts and crafts, Music, farm fresh produce, food trucks and eats are planned for this summer’s Friday and Saturday summer afternoons. This season Bison Creek will host home to a weekly people’s market. After noon and evening entertainment and shopping after a great day visiting Glacier National Park. Finish the day off with some local eats, live music, and native games, fun for the entire family. Backed by sunset in Glacier National Park’s back yard, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more genuine place to be. For more information about the market, visit our page: The People’s Market.
For rustic at its best Bison Creek Ranch is the place to come. Cell phone service is very limited, wireless internet is available in or around the restaurant, T.V.’s do not come standard in every room, and our cabins were built when the railroads were being built. Known as Gandy Dancers, these cabins housed workers maintaining the railroads back in the 1930’s. Of course we’ve done some revamping and put some electricity and plumbing in them, but all in all they are still very rustic. Porches on each cabin and A-Frame provide a comfortable, quite, relaxing view of Glacier National Park while listening to Bison Creek babble in the early months.
Glacier National Park is visible from every angle at Bison Creek. All of Glacier Park’s glory are a short drive away. The Eastern entrance to the park located in the town of St. Mary is approximately 30 miles off, and with a scenic drive over Highway 49 (Looking Glass) it’ll seem like no time at all. The western entrance to the park located in the town of West Glacier is about 57 miles along Highway 2. Along this drive you can visit the Goat Lick and watch summer time rafters float down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. Visit the Browning, Montana, central hub of the great Blackfeet Nation and partake in the rich history that surrounds us.
For a fun family friendly time whether you are from Montana or visiting from another place, you’ll find Bison Creek Ranch to be a great place to hang your hat for a few nights. If you have any questions or would like to make reservations, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help you out.
